The project located in Lanzhou, a city shaped by mountains and the Yellow River, the project is an innovative public space that bridges the urban interface with domestic life. Drawing inspiration from the river's movement, Silk Road culture (including Majiayao pottery patterns and Dunhuang colors), and traditional courtyard rhythms, the design avoids isolated decorative motifs. Instead, it translates these cultural cues into a comprehensive spatial language coordinated across architecture, landscape, and interiors. The spatial sequence unfolds from the public city corner, guiding visitors through the entrance gate, a waterscape forecourt, and the main exhibition center, before extending into a sunken courtyard and corridors. This route creates a nuanced transition from the bustling city to a tranquil residential environment. The disciplines merge seamlessly through consistent geometric curves and a controlled earth-toned and blue-green color palette. The architectural facade combines the stability of stone, the refinement of dark metal and copper details, the transparency of glass, and the layered depth of louvers, all responding elegantly to Lanzhou's bright natural light. Ultimately, the project transcends its initial exhibition role. It focuses on the enduring everyday value of public spaces, utilizing durable materials and offering flexible areas for community interaction and lingering, thereby establishing a cohesive and resilient community environment.
