He was a Senator and Member of the University of Coimbra's Assembly and served as the contributing editor for the book "Urban Complex" published by Design Media Publishing, and its Chinese counterpart, "城市综合体," by Liaoning Science and Technology Publishing House. Do Vale’s published works have gained international recognition, and he has delivered lectures and authored articles on topics spanning architecture, urban planning, and rehabilitation in various locations.
