Greentown Huangpu ONE_ARTDEN|ONE Space

The building's main structure is composed of multiple simple, geometric, transparent blocks, shifted to blur the boundary between the interior and exterior, creating a rhythmic flow along the street. The shifted layout not only shapes a flowing public path but also achieves a balance between independence and connection in its functionality: each block carries a specific scene, with interior spaces emphasizing transparency. Natural light from the high northern windows penetrates into the core, culminating in a modern language that feels effortless, a time-space container along the Huangpu River that breathes with the city and nature.
The nighttime scene is conceptualized as a “rhythm of light,” creating dynamic light and shadow effects through the contrast of materials on the facade. The northwest corner entrance block is designed as an art window, with a lightbox above to display future hanging artworks. The subtle and sophisticated lighting effect creates a humble yet refined urban image along the street.
The building embraces the inner courtyard with an L-shaped, semi-enclosed form, creating an inward-facing secluded retreat. The landscape design, themed around "Water Cypress Mirror Forest," captures the vertical lines of branches and the reflections of the sky and clouds. The negotiation area, incorporating the block's vocabulary, frames the view of the cypress forest through large windows, resembling a giant landscape scroll. When the glass doors open to the outdoor platform, the interior and exterior experiences are enhanced. The building's enclosure of nature transforms the landscape into a flowing spatial syntax — the reflections are the medium, and the water cypress trees are the protagonists, telling a future tale of urban and natural coexistence.
Externally, the building faces the river with an avant-garde stance, embodying the rhythm of a futuristic city, while the interior space anchors inward, embodying the classic aesthetics of Shanghai’s modernist spirit.
