Located west of Changjiang Road and north of Zhaohe Road in Nanyang City, Henan Province, Jinguayuan Fengqiao Shuyuan is classified as urban residential land with a total site area of 27,861.39㎡ and a net construction area of 16,538.02㎡. Planned with a floor area ratio of 3.0 and a maximum building height of 80 meters, the community contains 403 residential units and complete parking facilities. Breaking the conventional ground-attached residential model, the project adopts an innovative raised-plate suspended community system centered on the design concept of “suspending in context”.
The design reconstructs the spatial relationship among architecture, nature and human settlement through a distinct dual-layer vertical layout. All residential buildings, landscape gardens and pedestrian systems are elevated on the upper plate to form a quiet, purely pedestrian living island, while mechanical facilities, supporting services and vehicular traffic are centralized on the lower urban base. This independent two-tier structure realizes complete vehicle-pedestrian separation and fundamentally eliminates traffic noise, exhaust interference and safety risks within the residential zone.
By reorganizing urban space vertically, the design effectively solves common urban residential problems such as site dampness, poor drainage and waterlogging hidden dangers in dense urban blocks. It removes the limitations of traditional flat community planning, releases continuous and integrated landscape space, and creates a low-density, high-quality living environment under high plot ratio constraints. The project provides an innovative spatial renewal model for intensive residential development in high-density urban areas.
