Inspiration and Strategy
The marketing strategy for Market Center in San Francisco was driven by a vision to position it as the most engaging and fun office building in the city. The project centered on large-scale signage to introduce a suite of unprecedented amenities—including a rock climbing wall, pickleball courts, basketball courts, and a full-service restaurant and bar. The goal was to transform the active construction phase into a dynamic brand experience, creating a bold and unmissable presence along San Francisco's main thoroughfare, Market Street. The signage was designed to reflect the playful and energetic identity of the amenity center itself, building a strong brand narrative before the doors even opened.
Problem Solved and Execution
The signage project effectively solved the critical challenge of generating awareness and intrigue for amenities that were completely hidden from view during a lengthy construction period. It provided tangible social proof that the amenity center was truly under development, converting public skepticism into belief and excitement. The execution involved several unique techniques, including large-scale graphics and bright, bold colors designed for maximum visual impact. A QR code was strategically integrated to link directly to the property website and broker contact information, facilitating immediate inquiries. On the plaza side, which attracts a captive lunch audience, content was kept intentionally vague—displaying only "coming fall 2026" and a QR code—to spark curiosity and conversation. The team successfully navigated challenges such as coordinating installation around active construction schedules, managing tight timelines to maintain momentum, and ensuring compliance with building restrictions.
Results
The market response was immediate and overwhelmingly positive. The signage generated significant pre-opening buzz, leading to unsolicited inquiries from passersby wanting to know more about what was coming to the space. This visible commitment to the project successfully shifted public perception from speculation to genuine anticipation. The campaign effectively positioned Market Center as the future home of San Francisco's most exciting office amenity center, creating a strong sense of place and desirability well in advance of its Fall 2026 opening.
