Fathom

This project, tailored for a fiercely individualistic urban dreamer, takes “Undercurrents” as its design core, creating a hyper-modernist sanctuary that is faithful to the self and rich in narrative depth.
The space is dominated by deep black, where walls and cabinets embrace the interior in night-like serenity; refined gray floors unfold like a tranquil water surface, resulting in a calm yet powerful atmosphere; bold, high-saturation accents—sapphire blue, vivid yellow, and true red—pierce through the darkness like luminous meteors or neon lamps, serving as dramatic visual focal points and establishing a dynamic emotional rhythm. Material choices also break conventions: laser‑coated metal panels refract mesmerizing light, translucent concrete walls diffuse soft glows, and stone finishes add a rugged aesthetic. The collision and fusion of these varied textures transform the space itself into an immersive art installation.
The project mainly employs organic, fluid arcs—including winding curves of ceilings, rounded corners of walls, and gentle contours of furniture—to elegantly soften edges, guiding both the eye and body through the space with effortless ease. A main‑light‑free lighting system, abundant in embedded linear lighting, sculptural lighting, and precisely placed accent lighting, further dissolves edges. This leads to rich play of light and shadow for an ethereal, refined atmosphere, infusing the space with a breath‑like rhythm and a sense of warmth. Additionally, the living room incorporates floor‑to‑ceiling windows to frame the skyline of the city, transforming sunrise or moonrise and the flow of urban traffic into ever-changing, dynamic artworks within the space—achieving a poetic symbiosis of landscapes, furnishings, and daily living.
