Noble Identity Life Experience Center

The project is located in the picturesque Nantong City, Jiangsu Province in East China. Situated at the heart of the Yangtze River, Nantong is home to the unique Weiyang Culture. Since ancient times, it has been known for its beautiful landscape and talented people. With its well-connected waterways, the city represents an ideal river town scenario of “city and water as one”. Classical Jiangnan (region on the south of the Yangtze River) gardens are dotted here and there, among which the most well-known is Shuihui Garden. First built in the late Ming Dynasty, it is an isolated shelter of Dong Xiaowan, one of the “Eight Beauties of Qinhuai”, and Mao Pijiang, one of the “Four Gentlemen of the late Ming Dynasty”.How can humanity and nature coexist harmoniously in a modern urban context? The design team drew inspiration from the wisdom of the ancients and utilized elements found in local traditional gardens. Combining the local culture and natural scenery, they constructed a “pavilion” in the garden. From the contracting room to the reception area, the lingering charm of the antiquity is presented through a modern design language. Thus, visitors are able to experience the hidden aesthetics of ancient gardens and taste the pleasure of living in Jiangnan. The design explores new possibilities of elegant living in the modern times.
