Redefining access to commercial property
As the founder of Australia’s largest commercial-property-only buyers’ agency, Unikorn Commercial Property, Helen Tarrant has redefined how investors access and approach commercial property.
Recognising that many investors were acquiring assets without a clear long-term strategy, Helen developed a strategy-first methodology that aligns every acquisition with a client’s broader financial objectives, passive income goals and portfolio roadmap.
Helen and her team have facilitated more than $984 million in commercial property transactions for 1,500 paid clients across every state and asset class.
Building a national specialist ecosystem
Since founding Unikorn in 2016, Helen has expanded the business from a specialist education provider into a national ecosystem encompassing education, buyers’ agency services and syndication. Today, she leads a team of approximately 40 professionals supporting clients across Australia through sourcing, due diligence, legal support, settlement and ongoing advisory.
Helen’s education platform comprises one of the market's longest-running commercial property webinar series, a structured investor education pathway that takes investors from first principles to transaction readiness, and a Wiley-published book that has cemented her authority in the commercial property category.
Syndication expertise
Helen has built a syndication model that expands access to larger-scale commercial property opportunities. The progression has been significant: from a Sydney medical centre acquisition in 2019, settled with five investors at $1.64 million, to the Vision Woolcock acquisition in 2025, settled with 54 investors at $42.69 million.
Over six years, this represents a 26-fold increase in deal size and a tenfold increase in investor participation, reflecting the scale, sophistication and trust underpinning the model she has created.
Lasting impact
By combining specialist commercial property expertise with investor education and strategic planning, Helen has created a model that empowers Australians to build long-term wealth through informed commercial property investment. Helen helped clients deploy $232 million into commercial property during 2024-2025, with yields of up to 13.6%. She also achieved more than $5.1 million in purchase price reductions for clients.
Demonstrating her industry standing, Helen won Research & Acquisition Specialist of the Year (Commercial) at the 2026 Australian Buyers Agent Awards.
