Where mountain and valley folds rises above Taipei as a study of geometry, proportion, and resemblance. Where many contemporary interiors favor curvature and fluidity, this space is defined by a disciplined interplay of right angles and folded planes. The entire composition follows the logic of paper folding, its mountain and valley creases forming a spatial language of strength and release. The result is an interior that feels both deliberate and serene.

The client, a second-generation entrepreneur from Chiayi, built his career in the paper-carton industry, a field grounded in precision and repetition. Folding, enclosing, and framing are his daily grammar, each movement creating support and protection. This principle became the foundation of the home, translating the industrial discipline of packaging into an architectural framework.

At the entrance, a marble wall veined like ink-washed paper introduces the Eastern idea of "kai men jian shan", opening the view directly toward strength and direction. From that point, the interior unfolds in measured succession. The living and dining areas align along a quiet axis anchored by a monolithic island, while light glides across surfaces as if tracing the folds of paper, connecting each volume through rhythm and reflection.

Every room continues this geometry with variations of tone and texture. The master suite balances grey and blue with a touch of orange, the daughter’s room layers blush and ivory, and the son’s combines mint and taupe. Each palette reads as a subtle modulation within one folded form.

The residence is not a display of minimalism but of measured empathy. Its geometry offers calm rather than rigidity, turning the industrial act of folding into a domestic language of order, intimacy, and quiet coherence.
