IDEAL CITY OF XI'AN RONGTOU

The project is located in the ecological area of Chanba International Port in Xi'an, a national historical and cultural city. It is adjacent to the ecological circle of the Ba River, an important river in Xi'an. The bustling urban atmosphere and the nearby park streams and rivers converge here. Half is the city, half is the streams and rivers; half is the ancient charm, half is the modernity. Creating a harmonious relationship amidst the contradictions is a respect for and continuation of the city and nature, and also the starting point of the design of this project.
The east and south sides of the site are surrounded by an urban green belt. A pedestrian roaming planned circulation route is set on the east side, and the north side serves as the main vehicle circulation route for residents to return home in the community. Starting from the characteristics of the site, the design makes use of the elevation difference between the north and the south, creating an elevation difference of one floor between the site within the community and the urban interfaces on the east and north sides. Then, combined with the height changes of the commercial supporting facilities themselves, multiple visual platforms with different vertical heights are formed inside and outside the community. Multiple courtyard spaces are set within the community. Residential buildings are arranged in a scattered manner around each courtyard space, and the panoramic end hall brings the maximum landscape view into the interior space. While responding to the landscape, the design of the garden tour axis is also a key point. Grey space corridors and open landscape nodes are interspersed in various functional spaces, continuing the street and lane culture of the traditional life in Xi'an. The contrast between urban residential life and natural seclusion is transformed here. A new urban order is written on the vein of nature, and the memory of nature is preserved and continued.
