HuiYu DaChiShin Lighting Design

This project is a residential development located in the Nantun District of Taichung City. The building faces a vast green space—Wenxin Forest Park—one of the city's significant urban parks. As a result, even within the highly developed concrete jungle, residents are able to enjoy an exceptional view and abundant greenery.
The architectural design team, U.Tech, shaped the building into a 26-story, purely residential structure. Through the careful combination and transition of materials and colors on the façade, the building’s exterior evokes a rhythm reminiscent of black and white piano keys. This not only adds visual interest to the façade but also allows the building to stand out in the surrounding environment.
Lighting design for the building’s exterior is one of the project's key features. The goal is to make the building attract attention at night and to highlight its inherent distinctiveness. Moreover, as the most luxurious and expensive residence in the area, the lighting design also aims to express respect for the residents within. The lighting concept was approached from human-scale, street-scale, and urban-scale perspectives, with careful consideration given to viewpoints and sightlines. The lighting amplifies the features of the architectural façade and integrates seamlessly with the building’s details. From the base, lighting intertwines with landscaping and greenery, creating horizontal lines that flow like a stream. These lines extend upward, incorporating the design of balconies and window railings in an orderly fashion, ultimately reaching the roof, where they transition into a crown adorned with five colorful torches.
The lighting design from the base to the roof embodies profound life philosophy. It reflects the idea that those who live in this building are individuals who have risen above a chaotic and competitive environment. They have found their own patterns and strategies for accumulating wealth in life, and in the end, they wear the crown, overlooking the world as true kings.
