Sustainable Serenity

This design project is tailored for a young couple seeking a comfortable, modern smart home. Having lived in the United States, they prefer a minimalist style, avoiding overly complex decorations. The design emphasizes simplicity, employing clean lines and a light color palette, featuring marble and wood grain with subtle metal accents to create a bright, contemporary living space. Given the house is situated in the humid Neihu District of Taipei city, special attention was paid to air quality and humidity control. The television wall was coated with "Rakuto," an eco-friendly paint that helps regulate humidity, reflecting the couple’s commitment to sustainability.
The project's standout feature is its comprehensive and well-integrated hardware systems. Hidden within the ceiling are systems for total heat exchange, suspended dehumidification, and air purification, ensuring exceptional indoor air quality. The installation of an underfloor heating system further enhances overall comfort. These integrated systems ensure a clean and fresh indoor environment, effectively controlling humidity. The design also prioritizes safety, incorporating rounded corners to anticipate future children in the home. The overall design is minimalist yet functional, with all systems controllable via smartphone apps, showcasing the concept of a modern smart home. The use of eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient systems underscores the project’s commitment to sustainability and environmental consciousness.
Despite the home’s location in a humid area, the design ensures that air quality is well-maintained, creating a dry and fresh indoor environment that enhances health standards. The underfloor heating system provides warmth and coziness during cold winters, enhancing overall comfort. The integration of smart home devices allows residents to control all systems easily through their phones, increasing convenience and modernity. These design elements not only improve the quality of life but also reflect the residents' appreciation for sustainability and technology, embodying their pursuit of a better and more eco-friendly living environment. The project successfully merges aesthetic simplicity with practical convenience, making it an exemplary model of modern sustainable living.
