Revealing our aspiration-“to experience character of space,” we manage fewer decorations on basic plastering and arrange neutral furnishings with wood built-in shelves and cabinets. Besides, indirect lighting under exposed beams renders a stately balanced aspect. The mass vividly transfers its solid shapes into stunning figures with reflections from the ceiling and walls.
We adopted the Shirasu Kabe plaster to finish the wall behind the family shrine table and the sofa. Its unique benefits enhance humidity control and air purification. In addition, easy-maintained paint on the ceiling elevates the convenience of removing incense stains. All the finishes create a healthy living space for the residents.
We combined the living and dining room with the family shrine, opting for folding tables and chairs. A flexible-arranged coffee table coordinates with the track lighting above to create an adaptable, multi-functioning recreational public space.
First, an ample blank space manifests the nifty elegance of a grayish wood tone. Black elements penetrate the rounded coffee table, a lacquered doorframe, and the TV and deliver a coherent view. Besides, the sliding louver door to the balcony and metallic pendant lights in each space harmonize a simple and modern American style.
A minimalist TV unit and wooden open shelving on the TV wall accommodate living items and personal collections. On the opposite wall, Shirasu Kabe plaster reveals a coarse texture and produces distinctive layering behind the sofa.
