Urban Splendor

Living in the city for many years, our imagination of life has been compressed by the towering skyscrapers. What does a people-centric space precisely entail? And how can it seamlessly merge with the local environment to create a fresh new identity?
This interior project situates in a redevelopment area near Taipei's Xinyi District. Through the thoughtful planning of spacious surrounding streets and open views, we aim to rekindle the residents' embrace of the essential comforts and security in their daily lives. Inspired by the landscape imagery of Oriental ink paintings, our design philosophy employs a language of simplicity, rhythm, and lightness to outline the architectural façade. The flowing white lines, reminiscent of mountain streams and cascades, symbolize the vibrant vitality of Taipei, constantly flowing like a gushing spring. It embodies a positive image and modern aesthetics, becoming a splendid gem representing the spirit of the city.


This architecture is located in the city center, adjacent to an elementary school. With the school buildings having a lower height, it stands out visually compared to typical urban dwellings nestled in narrow alleyways, offering unobstructed views of lush greenery and bustling cityscape. We strategically plan an open rooftop terrace and garden to enhance this advantage, providing residents with an exceptional visual retreat. Additionally, considering the school's location on the western side of the site, we thoughtfully design deep sunshades on both the east and west sides of the architecture, ensuring convenience for parents and kids during their daily commute.
Thanks to the highly trusted of our collaborating developer, we were given the freedom to unleash our creativity beyond the interior floor plan. To capture the lively ambiance of the emerging enterprise and attract a younger clientele, we deliberately depart from the conservative architectural styles prevalent in the surrounding area. Our goal is to create a fresh style that combines modernity and storytelling, resulting in a contemporary and captivating design.
