China Overseas Beijing Jinan Fortune Center Lighting Design

China Overseas Beijing Fortune Center (Jin an) and Uni Elite is a landmark urban regeneration TOD project in the west of Beijing, comprising three office buildings and a shopping mall. The building facade is a "door" shape, meaning "the west gate of the capital". A new materiel which is transparent light plate is used by the lighting designers in a special location of the building, and the simple and internal light plays a role that links the architecture and the city.
This light guide plate is also used on the top of the commercial canopy, and the programming dynamic control system provides more possibilities for the commercial vitality of the city.Lighting design aims to create a new dialogue between the interior and exterior of the building. After a mass of lighting experiments, the light guide plate is finally installed between the architectural glass and the interior motorized window-blinds , and the surface brightness is controlled to a comfortable range for both interior and exterior, lighting up the building facade and providing ambient light for the interior offices.
Architectural lighting designed by using light guide plate works both for exterior and interior space is a great attempt ,and we think it makes sense as a positive exploration. The project received LEED certification.
