Since the beginning of time, the indigenous human spirit of Huai’an has been symbolized by the water culture nurtured by the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal. In order to explore the connection between the past and the present as time goes by, “water” becomes the key of the space in the new environment of artistic deconstruction. The designers have translated form into rhyme from the simple and elegant water drop sculpture to the sparkling crystal lights, which helps humanistic heritage of a city come to life in the language of art and aesthetic imagination. The creation of different spatial forms and functional scenes, such as reading, chatting, coffee baking, sitting and appreciating, etc, offers rhythmic poetry and directs the beat of life. At the same time, a strong emphasis has been placed on the philosophy of teaching through lively activities in the vibrant and engaging parent-kid play area. The interests of children are echoed by a variety of books, hand-drawn cartoon pictures, and adorable cartoon dolls, all of which help people appreciate the beauty of life in their regular family interactions. “The goal of design is to influence how people and space interact and how life fits into available space. No matter the colors, materials, function, or aesthetics used in this process, the space design is essentially planning and interpreting our life.” the designer added.
