Reaching Far

Reaching Far is a design for an office whose owner has been in the hardware industry for years and who, with the outbreak of COVID-19, has been back to Taiwan to set up his headquarters. This brand-new office is emblematic of the company’s determination to map out a new vision as well as its concept of striving for excellence and sustainability.
The layout includes executive offices, a conference room, staff office, a lounge area with an open-plan bar, a computer mainframe essential to an e-commerce platform, and a storage room.
To make the entire office more spacious, the design team sets the directors’ offices and the conference rooms on either side of the space, while the open-concept coffee corner serves to avoid a broken, narrow flow. Natural light comes in on only one side, and large French windows are mainly located in the directors’ offices. Therefore, the dividing walls in these offices are made of switchable glass so as to get more natural light for the indoors. By means of voltage changes, the glass can be transparent or matte to allow for both transparency and privacy.
All the hardware products for the storage and showcases in the entire space are manufactured by the company itself. The lighting design complements the mellow wooden texture of the showcases and thereby accentuates the core concept of the company. Upon entering the door, professionalism of the management team is manifested. The visual effect of the space proceeds further into the main office section with black light belts on the ceiling. The designer specifically has metal lines built into the wall in the directors’ offices, with their regular or irregular formations to present properties of the company’s products as well as underscore high-end quality of its brand.
With the space as its headquarters, the company can be rooted in tradition, stand firm in Taiwan and look to the entire globe, expanding its overseas frontiers and reaching far.
