The project is located on the resort coast of Sanya Haitang Bay. Inspired by Sanya's rich natural resources, the project's masterplan combines regional culture, healthy lifestyle and humanistic care to create a Continuing Care Retirement Community CCRC in a natural environment between mountains and water in the warm climate of 18 degrees north latitude. The project is equipped with services and facilities such as a communal centre, sports centre, recreation centre and dining hall to create a diverse and vibrant community. The project is also equipped with a health management centre, family doctors, a rehabilitation hospital, a rapid medical transport mechanism with local hospitals, and internet consultations to jointly build an integrated online and offline medical care service system. The community provides an all-round care and attention to the elders by meeting their long-term needs for different health conditions.
The design draws on the gabled form of the local boat house and combines it with an open layout to cope with the tropical climate of Sanya. The open and spacious layout maximises the view of the landscape and creates neighbourhood interaction, while providing sufficient daylight and natural ventilation in every room. A series of renewable energy technologies, such as solar photovoltaic panels on the roof and rainwater recycling systems, minimise energy consumption and create an urban park living experience with sustainability as the goal. The combination of landscape and architecture allows users to be close to nature from all angles in an architectural space.
