For the design of this particular case, which is the designer’s own home, we focused on two core concepts, which are “parenthood” and “borderless”. We discarded de-signs that are too complicated, and started with the color white, which symbolizes purity and freedom. Then we went with an open space layout with a graffiti wall to connect all the elements, letting the warmth of affection flow through the entire home and allowing the children to freely draw and explore. their creativity like in the wilds.

The grey coating is to represent the roughness of the wild, between the grey and the white, forms a blank chapter waiting for exploration. By placing the back of the sofa right next to the babies’ couching area, we gave them not just an entire wall to draw, paint and create, but a stage to freely explore their imagination and creativity.

By extending the single arm design bar lighting into the main hallway, we also creat-ed a space to contemplate, and to remind the guardians of their responsibility to keep the kids healthy and safe. The lighting also interacts with the wine cabinet, thusly creating a balance between taste, contemplation, and sense of well being. The unified countertop subtly connects the open kitchen, the bar area, and the din-ner table, as well as neutralizing the boundaries between the couching area and liv-ing room. Around the dining area, by hiding the entrances to various spaces, and without the unnecessary hallways, we can more efficiently create the structures of our dream life, despite and within a limited space.

The low bed frame design in the master bedroom allows the children to freely climb up and down with out limits. The warm orange color tone of the bed is the only Sat-urated color in the entire project, symbolizing how the parents’ embrace would al-ways be the warm shelters children need in exploring the ever-challenging world.
