Kissed by Sea Breeze

This project is a design project for the public area of a multiunit, which situated in a port city. The designer takes inspiration form the nature, and blends the spirit of wind and sea of this town into the design. The space therefore is connected to the surroundings, and life becomes part of the town itself. The symmetrical gate and the use of stones establish a sense of gravity, while the rich colors bring luxury to the space. Large windows draw the scenery into the space, and the stones glisten under the light, which greets every resident with a warm welcome.

Upon entering the lobby, the chandelier on the high-rise ceiling catches attention. The rhythmic ups and downs depict the ocean waves, as if the gentle sea breezes saunter into the space, and the sparkles undulate pleasantly. The symmetrical and clean lines of the entrance gate frame the space and add gravity to this softness. The dark brown from the wood leads the eyes to go down, through the gray and black stone walls, and eventually landing on the gray floor. The organic wood and hard stones intertwine and creates a grand ambience. Soft warm light glimmers on the well-selected gray stone, hinting the taste and depth of the residents. The hardware in darker tone echoing the stability of the space. Double-layer patterned lattices are set to keep the privacy, while bring in a touch intimacy into this common space. The lobby thus becomes an extension of home.

On the corner of the common space sits a gym. The room is surrounded by glasses on three sides, and the view from the high-rise story is amazing. With such scenery, the workout routine is transformed into an enjoyment. One the other side of the floor is the lounge room. The leather couches, the wood cabinets, and the grounded color palette together form a luxurious atmosphere. When standing high and looking far, the mind is open to all new opportunities.
