The spatial design of the Villa Club adopts a curatorial approach in place of conventional decorative logic. Conceived like a documentary of Taizhou, the space is choreographed through movement and rhythm, allowing the architecture itself to become the primary narrative medium. Art selection follows a museum-grade standard, deeply rooted in Taizhou’s cultural identity of “mountain, sea, and city,” while the concept of a contemporary art museum shapes a shared sense of value and belonging.
Upon entering the reception hall, the Chinese character “Zhen”(refinement and perfection) becomes the focal point through artist Jiang Naijun’s Qianzhen Tu (Thousand Refinements Scroll), which integrates the spirit of landscape imagery and vividly embodies the millennia-old heritage of “Hehe” (Harmony and Integration) in Taizhou. Moving into the negotiation area, the feature installation Yuan (Origin), inspired by fritillaria, forms a handcrafted “galaxy” drawn from the natural essence of the region. Descending the staircase, the corridor is anchored by a calligraphic work of “Zhen” by Bao Xianlun.
The connecting corridor that runs through the clubhouse is conceived as a fluid art gallery. Entering the Queen’s Lounge, the main backdrop features a three-dimensional embroidery piece, Jin Shang Tian Hua (Bloom Upon Bloom), inspired by the rhododendron fields of Huading Peak on Tiantai Mountain. Incorporating traditional Taizhou embroidery techniques, it expresses a distinctly local aesthetic. In the lounge, the lighting installation Bai Hua Qi Fang (Blossoms in Full Bloom), composed of gradient crystal glass, evokes the moment of flowers in full bloom and adds a refined sense of richness.
Passing through the art-filled foyer leading to the private dining area, a group of boat-shaped installations stands at its center.
Within the private dining space, the mural Ju Zhen Yuan (Gathering Essence) uses resilient, flowing lines to depict the upward growth of vines, merging Taizhou’s urban outline with a spirit of aspiration.
The corridor connecting to the underground arrival hall subtly weaves in Taizhou’s cultural heritage. On both sides are displays of locally crafted intangible cultural heritage works.
