Shimmering Ripples

Taking “water” as the essence of the inspiration, the design helps arrange the traces of daily life neatly, creating a fluid and lively house worth roaming around. An open space with zero corners creates its inclusiveness in a restrained yet subtle fashion.
With creativity of the designer, the symbolic imagery of light, air and water gently flows in the space. A genuine design satisfies one’s pursuit of improving the quality and enjoyment of daily life. A space that opens up one’s mind and heart becomes the residents’ safe harbor to no other.
The public space is in a grand yet simplistic style, applying different states of water as the concept to create an airy spatial perception and smooth flow. Once stepping in, one can see different details, such as lustrous texture and methods to soften edges or sharpness of the space. As for the living room, it takes on the idea of roundness and unity, while the lighting design forms an imagery of infinite ripples with lights shimmering around. The floating mist corresponds with it, forming a symbolic cycle of air that spreads all over the public space. The technique frames the living room of its own, which eventually replaces the traditional partitions between areas.
On the other side of the living room, the TV wall clearly divides the space, while its back turns into a desk with a chair aside. This arrangement not only beautifully partitions the space but also transfers it into the study smoothly, without any need of extra decoration.
The ceiling with warm and cool lights embedded shapes different kinds of atmosphere: gentle and elegant under natural lighting, neat; post-modern and futuristic under cool white light; comfy and soft under a warm white light.
On the other side, the private area applies the gunmetal grey shade and eco-friendly black marble wallpaper mural with metal embellishment. Big-sized floor-to-ceiling windows introduce immense natural light, and the curvy recessed ceiling heightens up the space. This arrangement wonderfully strikes a balance between brightness and steadiness.
