Dongying Wen Yue Peony

The soft furnishing design of the Wuyue Xuefu Wenyue Peony Club in Dongying is positioned as a high-end art exhibition-style space that integrates local culture with a modern urban lifestyle. Rooted in the idea of “evolution of human settlement and realization of refined living,” the design enhances both spatial quality and user experience through a delicate balance of art and functionality.
Emerging “because of the sea,” the project draws inspiration from the Yellow River estuary, wetland ecology, and petroleum culture of Dongying. Incorporating the artistic spirit of Chinese landscape poetry and painting, the symbolic peony, and a green-blue color palette, the design constructs an aesthetic narrative themed “Urban Landscape Poetry and Blossoming Scenes.” Natural elements such as mountains, water, forests, and flowers are introduced indoors to create a poetic, immersive environment.
The concept blends Eastern aesthetics with modern light luxury, presenting a spatial temperament of “Oriental brushwork and metropolitan rhythm.” Emphasizing the five-sense experience—vision, sound, scent, touch, and taste—the space embodies the philosophy of harmony between man and nature.
Three main design highlights define the project: Thematic Scene Creation – immersive zones such as “Peony Awakening in Spring” and “Private Banquet in Qingchuan.” Modern Interpretation of Tradition – reinterpreting symbols like peonies and ink-wash imagery through contemporary materials such as stainless steel and acrylic. Artistic Customization – bespoke elements like the “Peony Cloud Lamp” and “Wave Wall Painting.”
A refined green color palette, inspired by Tang Dynasty painting, unifies the overall tone. Contrasting textures—cotton and linen against metal and wood—enrich the tactile experience. The spatial organization follows five narrative clues: poetry, painting, water, forest, and fitness.
Sustainability is embedded throughout: eco-friendly materials, natural wood, and low-VOC finishes are used to reduce environmental impact. By integrating local culture, timeless materials, and artistic expression, the project establishes a distinctive brand image that harmonizes regional identity with contemporary sophistication.
