Anchored in the imagery of the Gan River, this office space translates the river’s shifting light, fluid rhythms, and cultural symbolism into a refined, contemporary workplace. It redefines the conventional office as not only a place for work but also a setting for collaboration, cultural exchange, and business hospitality. Through a dual narrative of “flowing time” and “functional space,” the design elevates the surrounding river views into a central experiential element, embodying the vision of an international-grade CBD workplace.
Rather than adopting a typical model of functional stacking or mono-style replication, the design draws inspiration from the Gan River’s “Twelve Hours,” transforming the sense of flow into a coherent spatial language. This approach creates distinct yet interconnected functional zones, supporting diverse office scenarios—from focused individual work to collaborative discussions and executive meetings. A sculptural chandelier in the reception area echoes the natural rhythms of the river, while the executive zone integrates Five Elements philosophy to shape a composed and strategic work environment.
To enhance concentration and well-being, the project introduces scent as part of the spatial strategy—a rare feature in office environments. Five key areas are paired with exclusive natural essential oil blends, dispersed through ceiling air vents for precise “scent-scene” alignment. Bright citrus notes welcome guests at reception, grounding woody tones aid focus in executive offices, and soft rose-sandalwood blends enrich the atmosphere in private dining and negotiation rooms. This multisensory layering reduces workplace stress and fosters emotional engagement.
Cultural integration further strengthens the company’s identity. Mother-of-pearl wall art, hand-painted twilight screens, and ceramic installations convey the spirit of the Gan River and Nanchang’s heritage, turning the workplace into a cultural showcase.
Sustainability principles guide material selection, combining recycled mother-of-pearl for artwork and horsehair carpets with water-based gilding in executive areas. These strategies reduce resource consumption without compromising quality, demonstrating how environmental responsibility can coexist with high-end office aesthetics.
