Youyi Bay

Youyi Bay is a small-scale, knowledge-oriented community situated on the northern shore of Aranya in Beidaihe District, Qinhuangdao City, encompassing a total area of 13,232 square meters. Developed and planning by VVYY Practice, the project engaged genarchitects and several independent academic architectural firms and design studios in a collaborative design effort. In contrast to the resource allocation targeting cultural tourism destinations on the southern shore of Aranya, Youyi Bay represents a community with a relatively centralized location and planning. It aspires to facilitate an orderly and well-managed daily life for all residents, while also striving to provide multi-faceted public life through diversified operations and functional integrations. The community planning of Youyi Bay is not a one-off project. Commencing with individual buildings, through gradual research and development spanning five years, three landmark structures—Juanzong Apartments, mi casa su casa club hotel, and Dijiu veranda—were eventually enclosed to forge a cohesive knowledge-based community. This community also encompasses a series of compound boutiques and chef-driven restaurants, a spiritual and cultural space, and a scenic tidal simulation landscape plaza.
