Utopic Communion

Back in the old time, Nanjing has been the capital of culture, winning the reputation of “World Center of the Culture.” It is surrounded by schools, and the parks nearby are scenic, as if the utopia of Xinyao New City. The design group takes the idea of multiple layers for the interior design, abstracting the boundaries between “inside and outside,” and creating a unique relationship layer by layer. It shows a utopic society, in which people can trust each other, even can live in harmony with the Nature: an exhibition center that combines street café, concert hall, art gallery and even the check-in point for Internet influencers.
People can feel the serenity of history and culture the moment stepping into the reception room of white stones. Continuous traditions are extended by the layers of wood bars decorated on the roof, connecting the boundaries of each other in the mind. Entering the hall of sandbox display, the metal artwork of outstanding design comes to the sight, artistically clashing this gentle wood exhibition center. Walking into chatting area, two black lighting bars on the ceiling pierce the whole space. There are no obvious divisions in the chatting area, a visual unity. Dark brown chairs on the carpet of layers symbolizes the flows upon piles of thoughts, and the trust among people. With interchangeable lines and arcs, the design for pillars makes this clean place integrated without losing wit inspiration.
The white sofas in the booth are strong contrast with brown chairs. Behind the booth is a metal curtain in between the reception area and chatting area, which is an attraction in such warm and wood space. The white sofas on the opposite side are also decorated with big, round metal. The carve design seems to be the evening lights of city, as well as ink drops of books. The bar of grey, solid rock echoes the white stone bench near the windows, and contrasts the brown chairs.
