Alice in Modernland

This residential interior design project is centered around a story theme that combines modern aesthetics with traditional design elements. The goal is to inject the story into the modern home space and evoke feelings of childhood memories. The designer chose "Alice in Wonderland" as the theme and incorporated practical functions and the moral of the story to create a modern version of the Alice style theme house. The main design axes are based on two chapters of the Alice in Wonderland story, "Down the Rabbit Hole" and "The Pool of Tears." This approach creates an exclusive family memory for the residents and a wonderful childhood for the owner's children. Additionally, the design aims to create unique memories for friends and relatives who visit the home.
As you enter the residence, you'll immediately notice a scene that captures Alice's adventure of chasing a rabbit, falling down a tree hole, and discovering a new world. The reflective gray mirror serves as a full body mirror but also depicts Alice's fall into the rabbit hole, symbolizing the dream-like quality of the story. The shoe-wearing area is inspired by trees and their holes, with a tree-hole shape extending from the ceiling to the scattered tree-trunk walls to replicate Alice's fall. Lastly, coat hooks shaped like keys add a touch of aesthetic appeal while also referencing the story.
In the shared living space, one will be able to observe an artistic representation of a classic scene from "Alice in Wonderland". The display features Alice in a state of distress, crying as the room fills up with her tears. The chandelier, designed to look like droplets of water, serves as a physical representation of her tears while the refrigerator is utilized as a symbol of sustenance. Moving on to the living room, one could admire a captivating wall sticker that depicts Alice running after a rabbit in a lush forest. The sticker is complemented by a gray paint scheme and bionic plants, which collectively contribute to a modern and chic atmosphere.
