As part of Amaia Land’s continued efforts to cater to the housing needs of Oversees Filipino Workers (OFWs), Amaia launched the short video entitled “Walang Kapalit” (“No Replacement”) on December 13, 2022. This was part of their viral web series called “Amaiaserye”, which was posted on the official YouTube and Facebook pages of the real estate company.
To date, the Amaiaserye video series has achieved much success with over two million views in total. Past videos include the highly viral “Wala Munang Pasko” (“No Christmas First”) and “Uwi Na Tayo Sa Amaia” (“Let’s Come Home to Amaia”), which touched on the themes of Christmas and OFWs, respectively. The newest addition, “Walang Kapalit”, merged these two themes by featuring an OFW coming home for Christmas after years of being away during the pandemic. OFWs remain a significant sub-market in the affordable housing industry and send over USD 30 billion in remittances which are used for basic needs, including housing.
The objective of the video was to provide a touching and heart-warming video which OFWs could relate to, particularly given the years apart during the past pandemic. It also features the Christmas theme in the background, making it more relevant to the season given its launch in December.
“Walang Kapalit” starts with a father reflecting on his life as an OFW and being excited about going home to the Philippines to see his family. When he arrives home, everyone was happy to see him except his youngest son, who seems to no longer recognize him given the years apart. The father makes efforts to make the son more comfortable through fun moments. In the end, the son finally connects the image of his father in online chats to the real person.
The Amaiaserye “Walang Kapalit” video garnered more than 584,103 views, 352,835 reach and 163,654 engagements on Facebook as of January 31, 2023. The video has helped generate interest in Amaia and its products among the OFW market. For the months of December 2022 and January 2023, Amaia generated OF sales amounting to over P654m.
