Shimmering Ripples

Located in an area famous for numerous rivers and lakes, the project’s particular style is heavily inspired by the confluence of three lakes in Lianshui County. Waves, splashes, current and ripples, all forms of water are embodied through different textures. The white color palette is set as the main tone, with some black hued items to set off the beauty of simplicity, capturing light and shadow interweaving indoors.

The installation art that flows freely in the spacious meeting room, has a silky surface texture that reflects lights and interprets the shimmering ripples. The natural lighting received indoor changes throughout the day, composing a beautiful vision through light and shadow. The meeting area in front of the windows functions to divide the space. The meeting area is designed with a light grey and black main tone and decorated with golden lines as embellishment. The geometric shapes and lines applied on the walls offer a sense of preciseness, and are echoed by the round shape patterned carpet and the triangle ceiling lights.

The shimmering ripples on the ceiling of the art space echoes with the black stone table island below, bringing a sense of fluidity to the solid texture. The wooden wall panel as the concept art, on the other hand, inspires the viewers for infinite imagination. Walking along the hallway, one can see the gradient blue on the walls extending, depicting the view from the beach to the ocean. The interweaving elements create a visual sense of waves moving forward. The ceiling lights suspended in the shape of swirls, respond to the local landscape. Moving to the projection area, the starry night ceiling design with the soft colorful textile chairs, create an immersive space.

The overall design embodies the local landscape through art and contemporary fashion, establishing a space that includes sunlight, stone, and greenery with these natural elements. A poetic atmosphere is thus created in every corner. The lighting design appears neat and clean in the meeting area. The designer aims at telling stories of local culture through installation art, with simplistic aesthetics.
