Xi'an has been the start of the Silk Road since ancient times, and our project is located in Xi'an International Logistics and Trade Park, which is the largest international transit hub along the Silk Road Economic Belt.
We want to create a cultural leisure club with historical and cultural elements in Xi 'an International Logistics and Trade Park and modern techniques, allowing visitors to feel the culture and enjoy the themselves in this comfortable space.
Inspired by the colorful silk along the Silk Road, we uses an silk installation at the door, whose shape is based on the Dayan Pagoda. The installation starts from the ceiling of the first floor and goes through the sand table area on the ground floor, highlighting the center of the space.
The top of the sand table area is themed on Silk Road Gem. Considering that the sand table area is the core of a sales center, the design team applies stainless steel and wood lattice to the back side of the background walls, the latter of which is from the lattice window of Xi’ an ancient architecture. The design perfectly echos with the external design of the project. Light and shadow change constantly as the folded plate stairs can reflect the light coming from all directions. Meanwhile, the stairs represent the meandering Silk Road.
The design team hopes to create a relaxing club with daily life scenarios in the whole negotiation area on the ground floor. It weakens the function of sales and arrange the furniture on both sides with the middle as the axis. And the sand table area in the middle is independent.
Therefore, the center of the negotiation area is clear. At the top of the negotiation area, the team recreates wood grating and use PDLC so as to create different atmospheres.
