Time Valley Demonstration Area, Xi’an

Located in the Hi-tech Zone on the southwest of Xi’an, the project is the demonstration area of Time Valley, a residential community co-developed by Zhongtian Myhome Group and Newhope. It enjoys the innovative and rational context of Xi’an, which is an ancient city with a long history yet a modern image.
After overcoming many difficulties, the design team conceived a restrained and implicit built-in demonstration area in the middle. Positioned to be the core of the future community, the demonstration area extends a warm welcome to visitors.
The large-scale community lobby becomes an eye-catching landscape along the road, attracting people. The corridor surrounding the rectangular waterscape courtyard helps extend the space, allowing people to appreciate the space enclosed by waterscape courtyard and reception hall from different angles. The enclosed space also echoes the modern Zen-like atmosphere of landscapes.
With details and sizes under strict control, the reception hall made of aluminum panels and glass creates a simplistic, lightweight and rich architectural appearance, whilst also showing the building’s delicate beauty.
Arranging the demonstration area underground is a bold attempt for the design. Entering the demonstration area, visitors can feel a sense of strong tension when overlooking the double-height interior space where property models are displayed.
The demonstration area is set beside and fused with the sunken courtyard. A 15-meter-high metal-mesh curtain is hung below the huge eave, appearing like the screen of traditional buildings, which is a modern interpretation of Oriental veiled aesthetics. Complemented by sunshine, the curtain produces a sparkling effect, while echoing the cascade on the opposite side as well.
