The project is a sales center located in “the Heart of Yangtze River Civilization”, which is a new world-class historical and cultural display area in Wuhan. Adjacent to the Hanyangshu Park to be constructed in the future, it can overlook the prosperous and bustling CBD of the city, only one river away from the famous Yellow Crane Tower.
Where the sales center is situated is experiencing fast urban renewal. In light of this, the project is intended to integrate the old with the new, by respecting Wuhan’s historical and artistic treasures while also paying attention its future. In this way, visitors who pursue high-quality life seem to be able to “travel through time and space” freely, with rich imaginable about wonderful future life.
The exquisite reception desk reveals a sense of future. Simple brushed metal and plain, clean silhouettes of the city complement each other. The art installation in the shape of “∞”, made of etching glazed bricks, is suspended in mid air, symbolizing the infinite possibilities of future. The metal-textured wall produces illusory light and shadows that overlap together.
The bar area stretches itself and shimmers like gold, which draws inspiration from the ancient ginkgo tree with a history of over 500 years. In the distant view, it looks like a treasure bowl carrying beautiful wishes. As big trees have always been considered a place where people gather expressing their feelings and various stories happen, the bar area will also continue the humanistic emotional context and inherit the good implied meaning of treasure bowl, offering a space for people to enjoy being together.
The gorgeous installation full of green metal “leaves” is vertically unfolded. The “leaves” with the Chinese words of “Hanyang Shu” have different sizes and are arranged in an artistic manner, establishing a dialogue between two rivers. As swaying with wind, the colors, sizes and brightness of sparkling “leaves” show aesthetic variations, appearing like magnificently confluent rivers and generating a twinkling visual effect when complemented by light and shadows.
